It’s about engaging with the youth in order to enhance their ability to communicate complete ideas to individuals of all kinds.
SPEAK (Speaking with Purpose Educating our Audience and Kindreds) is a mentoring program that also serves as a 5-week course on public speaking.
As our world continues to change I see our youth leaning further and further away from enhancing their vocabulary while losing the ability to convey full thoughts. SPEAK has taken on the responsibility to combat the circumstances with weekly workshops that lead up to on air presentations, work inside of radio stations, and connecting with production spaces. SPEAK aims to get our youth excited about learning how to communicate. I’m sure we can all agree, Communication is key!
Background
The ability to adequately and appropriately communicate is an essential skill that will accelerate your advancement in many situations. While public speaking seems simple, it has been proven to be a difficult task even for adults. Unfortunately, it seems as though, the growing influence of social media has led to platforms garnering the attention of our students. Subsequently, leading to our kindreds straying away from enhancing their vocabulary and their ability to convey full thoughts. SPEAK has taken on the responsibility to combat the current circumstances with a 5-week course that ends with on air presentations, work inside of radio stations, and access granted to production spaces. SPEAK aims to get our youth excited about learning the essentials of communication. Communication is key!
